ISIS targets freed parts of Mosul

A civilian has been injured after Mortar shells landed on a home in al-Jazaer district in the left bank of Mosul, local officials told the Baghdad Post Tuesday.

ISIS terror group has launched a barrage of mortar shells on the left bank of Mosul, already liberated by the Iraqi forces.

On February 19, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has announced the start of an operation to liberate the western side of the flashpoint city of Mosul from the grip of ISIS terrorist group.

"Our forces are beginning the liberation of the citizens from the terror of Daesh," Abadi said in a televised speech on Sunday morning.

"We announce the start of a new phase in the operation. We are coming, Nineveh, to liberate the western side of Mosul," he added, referring to the province of which Mosul is the capital.
