Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud wrapped up his visit to China on Saturday after meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, SPA reported.
In a joint statement, they expressed their support for the efforts of the Iraqi government in fighting ISIS terrorist organization, stressing importance of preserving Iraq's unity, stability and independence.
They also expressed their concern about the situation in Libya, expressing hope that the national reconciliation government is to be able to restore security and stability in Libya and maintain the integrity and unity of the Libyan territories with the support of the international community.
At the invitation of President Xi, King Salman paid a visit to China from 15-18, March, 2017.
King Salman and President Xi held bilateral relations. They exchanged views in depth regarding developing relations of comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the Saudi Arabia. The two sides discussed regional and international issues of common interest. They have identical stances towards a number of important issues.
China stressed its support for all Saudi Arabia's policies in order to maintain stability in the region. China supports the positive role played by Saudi Arabia in the regional and international affairs.
Saudi Arabia stressed once again its steadfast commitment regarding One China Policy.
The two sides committed to "Doha Declaration" of China-Arab Cooperation Forum issued in May 2016 which stressed the need to respect the right enjoyed by the sovereign states and the States Parties of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea in choosing the ways of settling disputes with independent will.
The two countries expressed condemnation of extremism and terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, stressing that terrorism has not linkage with any race or religion. The two sides will cooperate in the fight against extremism and terrorism. The Chinese side expressed its appreciation of the steps taken by the Kingdom in this regard through declaring establishment of the Islamic Military Alliance to Combat Terrorism.
Within context of ensuring security and stability at regional and international arenas, the two sides expressed importance of achieving a just, comprehensive and lasting solution to the Palestinian cause in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and the UN Security Council relevant resolutions. The Kingdom highly appreciates efforts exerted by the Chinese side in this regard. The Chinese side also highly appreciates the Kingdom's efforts in enhancing peace and stability in the region.
The two sides stressed importance and necessity of finding a solution to the Syrian crisis based on the Geneva Declaration (1) and the Security Council resolutions no. (2254) and (2268). They also stressed importance of providing humanitarian and relief assistance to the Syrian refugees and displaced people inside and outside Syria.
The two sides stressed importance of maintaining the unity of Yemen and achieving its security and stability. They also stressed importance of a political solution to the Yemeni crisis based on the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism, outputs of the national dialogue conference and the Security Council Resolution no. (2216), confirming their support for the legitimate authority in Yemen. The two sides also expressed their support for efforts exerted by Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, UN envoy to Yemen, to find a political solution between the Yemeni parties and the international exerted efforts in this regard, as well as to facilitate humanitarian access to all regions in Yemen.
