Imam Hussein Brigade commander killed in Syria

Amjad Bahadli
Commander of the Liwa al-Imam al-Hussein (The Imam Hussein Brigade) Shiite Militias, Amjad Bahadli, has been killed in Syria, a video circulated on social media announced.

During a previous visit to Syria's Darya, Bahadli likened Syrian president Bashar al-Assad to al-Hussein, Prophet Mohamed's grandson.

The Imam Hussein Brigade is an Iraqi Shi'a militia primarily operating in the Damascus area in coordination with other Iraqi Shi'a militias such as Liwa Assad Allah al-Ghalib.

They work under the narrative of defending the Sayyida Zeinab shrine.

A series of Shiite militias, most notably the Lebanese Hezbollah, are fighting within the ranks of Assad regime forces in Syria.
