Former vice president Iyad Allawi's coalition has renewed the call to replace members of Iraq electoral commission with independent judges .
Iraqi lawmakers and political parties have to shoulder their responsibilities towards Iraqi people, the leader in Allawi's coalition Kadhim al-Shimmari said in statement on Sunday.
Al-Shimmari also called on members of parliament to consider the proposal of Al-Wataniya coalition to replace the electoral commission members with independent judges.
Protesting is a political right for Iraqi people guaranteed by the Iraqi constitution in order to demand their rights in a peaceful way, he added.
He also called for staging peaceful demonstration to avoid any attempt to use such democratic practice to achieve suspicious targets.
He expressed sorrow over the fall of several injured people and the death of others among protesters and security forces. He also refused such violent acts as Iraq is a democratic country, urging all parties to unite their efforts to fight against ISIS terrorists.
Thousands of Sadrist followers poured onto the streets on Saturday demanding the dismantle of the electoral commission after several reports on its corrupt activities.
At least four persons were killed and scores of others were injured in the protests that were organized upon calls from Sadrist Movement Leader Muqtada al-Sadr.
