Iraq High Commission for Human Rights (IHCHR) announced on Monday that all 76 people who were arrested during protests witnessed in Muthanna province have been released.
A number of Iraqi cities and provinces, including Basra, Maysan, Dhi Qar, Babil, Diwaniyah, Wassit, Najaf, Muthanna and Karbala are witnessing mass demonstrations and sit-ins to protest against shortage of jobs, electricity, water and basic services.
Some demonstrators broke into and attacked several local government headquarters in these provinces during the current period.
IHCHR announced that 14 people were killed during the protests and 742 were wounded, including 470 protesters and 275 security personnel.
Activists expressed concern the IRGC militia exploits the ongoing turmoil to spread terror and hamper oil transfers.
