State of Law coalition, KDP agree to abolish president of Kurdistan post

State of Law coalition and Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) agreed on Saturday on abolishing president of Iraqi Kurdistan position.

 

This came during the visit of a joint delegation of the State of Law coalition led by Nouri al-Maliki and Fatah coalition led by Hadi Al-Amiri to Kurdistan region where the State of Law coalition reached an understanding with the KDP and its leader Masoud Barzani on abolishing the president of Iraqi Kurdistan position.

 

Both sides agreed that as part of the requirements of work during the next phase is the abolishming of the presidential system in the Kurdistan region and turn it into a parliamentary system in which the Prime Minister is the de facto ruler of the state.
