Soleimani exerted pressure on Sadr to form alliance with Amiri: sources

Sources who spoke to The Baghdad Post said that commander of the Iranian Quds Force militias, Qasem Soleimani exerted pressure on Sadrist Movement leader, Moqtada al-Sadr at the house of Nuri al-Maliki to form alliance with Hadi al-Amiri.

The sources pointed out that Soleimani told Sadr to form an alliance with Amiri’s militia in order to stop bombings witnessed in Sadr city.

Soleimani has a notorious role in the Iraq-Iran War in the 1980s. In 2012, he fought beside Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad through thousands of terrorists sent to curb the Syrian revolution that erupted in 2011.
