Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) led by Masoud Barzani said it rejects the results of the Iraqi parliamentary elections in the cities of Sulaymaniyah and Kirkuk, siding with other parties that also discard them.
The KDP along with other parties have called for manual recounting of votes.
In press statements, KDP's Media Officer Khosro Kuran said the results of the elections of Sulaymaniyah city are false, citing that some areas in the city are considered to be bases for the KDP, adding that these areas witnessed a low percentage of votes.
The election was marked by record low turnout. It was the first since Iraq declared victory over the ISIS group and the fourth since the 2003 US-led invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein.
