A bomb blast hit western Anbar, leaving two Iraqi soldiers killed and five others injured, security sources revealed Sunday.
The blast targeted security troops at al-Sadd region, south of Rutba.
The sources said ISIS sleeper cells were behind the attack.
Earlier on Sunday, an ISIS attack targeted army troops at Rutba and al-Fayda regions western Anbar.
Also, another ISIS attack targeted two army checkpoints in Saba’in region.
In December 2017, Iraqi PM Haider Abadi declared full liberation of Iraqi territories from ISIS group. But the terror group's sleeper cells usually attack Iraqi forces and civilians.
US officials warn the defeat of ISIS was not decisive.
