Gorran calls for int'l investigation on forceful deportation of Iraqis

Gorran Movement's Parliamentary bloc called on the Iraqi Foreign Affairs Ministry to hold an international conference to address the problem of forceful deportation of Iraqi refugees living abroad.

In a press statement, the bloc's head deputy Amin Bakr said that Germany wants to return over 10,000 refugees forcefully after refusing their asylum requests.

He added that the European Union also wants to negotiate the return of all the Iraqi refugees in Europe with the Federal Government.

He further stated that the Iraqi Parliament has issued a draft that refuses to forcefully return Iraqi living abroad, calling on the government to not cooperate with any government that does that and imposing sanctions on any transportation companies that facilitate the transfer of these Iraqis.

Why Iraq does not want to take its citizens back? It is duty under international law to allow return of the citizens. We can also make a deal with countries like Turkey and Iran to return citizens of Iraq there where they can be brought to the border of Iraq. Or even send them to some African countries like Israel does.
