Federal Court says extradition of citizens violating constitution
The Federal Supreme Court said on Sunday that the extradition of citizens with Iraqi citizenship to foreign authorities is unconstitutional.

In a statement, the spokesman of the court, Iyas Samok, said that this decision was previously made by the court in 2015.

This comes as the court is discussing the appeal of the constitutionality of Article 40 of the Riyadh Convention ratified by Law 110 of 1983, which states for the extradition of convicted people, he added.

The Court considered that this Convention contradicted Article 21 of the Iraqi Constitution, which prohibits the extradition of Iraqis to foreign authorities.
