Iraqi President Fuad Masum asserted on Saturday that the efforts to solve the crisis between Baghdad and Erbil are still ongoing.
In a statement, Masum said that the recent meetings between the Kurdistan Region Government and Baghdad's central government aim to tackle issues and problems between the two sides.
He added that these meetings are the first step towards ending all disputes between Baghdad and Erbil, noting that final solutions to this crisis are already showing up.
Earlier on Saturday, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi met with the Kurdistan Region Government (KRG) counterpart Nichervan Barzani and other high ranking officials.
The two sides discussed the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the means to solve the dispute between Baghdad and Erbil in accordance with the Iraqi constitution.
