Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has met with Brett McGurk, US special presidential envoy for the US-led coalition to Counter ISIS, at Abadi's office in Baghdad, Abadi's media office said in a statement on Wednesday.
During the meeting, McGurk denounced the double suicide bombing that took place in Baghdad which resulted in tens of casualties and injured.
He expressed sympathy for the families of victims and Iraqi citizens.
He also reiterated US support for Iraq in its fight against terrorism.
McGurk praised Abadi's efforts in preserving the unity of Iraq's territory and people.
Earlier on Monday, 38 persons had been killed while 105 injured in central Baghdad double suicide attack.
