The International Islamic Relief Organization of Saudi Arabia (IIROSA) has distributed food and blankets among residents of cities in western Anbar to alleviate their suffering.
Residents of Qa'im, Rawa and Annah have commended the efforts of Saudi Arabia, expressing their appreciation of Saudis' fraternal stance.
Earlier this month, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi declared final victory over ISIS after Iraqi forces drove its last remnants from the country, three years after the terrorist group captured about a third of Iraq’s territory.
The declaration meant Iraqi forces had secured the western desert and the entire Iraq-Syria border, and marked the end of the war against ISIS.
The Saudi gesture comes in the wake of the recent rapprochement between Riyadh and Baghdad. The two countries are getting close to undermine Iran's role in Iraq.
