Nearly 50 percent of the regions between Salahuddin and Anbar provinces were liberated from ISIS terror group, the Joint Operations Command announced Saturday.
The command added in a statement that the forces defused more than 250 explosives and destroyed a booby-trapping workshop.
This came during combing 36 villages to purge Upper Euphrates and al-Jazeera regions.
In the same context, US-led coalition air strikes killed 15 ISIS terrorists in the western desert, the War Media Cell said in a statement.
This goes against former statements that Iraqi army had fully liberated regions of al-Jazeera and Upper Euphrates.
