Sada region in western Anbar has been liberated from the clutches of ISIS terror group, commander of the seventh division Major Gen. Noman al-Zawbai said on Friday.
He also added the Iraqi flag has been raised over government buildings there.
"The region of Sada in western Anbar has been fully liberated despite the fact that ISIS terrorists have booby-trapped all buildings, roads and byroads," he added as he spoke to The Baghdad Post.
According to the security official, the Iraqi forces managed to kill seven ISIS terrorists and destroy a vehicle.
The Iraqi Air Force partook in the operation, he explained.
ISIS terror outfit has been incurring huge losses in Iraq in recent months, with its affiliates expelled entirely from Mosul, Tal Afar and other areas.
