Thousands of Iraqis in Tarmiyah district north of Baghdad face a humanitarian disaster, because of the siege imposed by the joint forces, sources told the Baghdad Post Wednesday.
The sources said the siege prevented people from getting their food and other required materials.
They warned the move seeks to change the demographics in the area.
The joint forces continue to impose a curfew in the district for the seventh day in a row, eyewitnesses said.
About 500 thousand civilians in Tarmiyah and its environs are on the brink of a humanitarian crisis with the joint forces cutting roads, and preventing the entry of food and essential needs to the city.
