The Spokesman for the head of Sadrist movement said that Kirkuk is part of Iraq and will always remain so.
In a statement, Salah al-Obeidi called on all Iraqi parties to respect the Parliament's decision related to the dismissal of Kirkuk's Governor, Najm EL-Din Karim.
Obeidi added that Sadr aims at maintaining the security of Kirkuk province and its multi-ethnic fractions.
He added that the parties affected by the decision must follow the legal procedures in this regard.
Earlier, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi declared the state of emergency in Kirkuk governorate and appointed General Nasser al-Ghanam as its new military governor.
This comes ahead of Kurdistan's independence referendum, as the autonomous region planned to include it in the referendum process.
Kurdistan will hold this referendum on 25th of September after its parliament approved it.
