King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud said Saudi Arabia will allocate additional 10 million US dollars for humanitarian aid in Iraq.
The king also ordered to open a new Saudi general consulate in Najaf city and to reopen border crossings between the two countries.
The Saudi administration also revealed that it is planning to appoint a new ambassador to Baghdad, according to Sadrist Movement's media office.
These measures were taken in wake of Sadrist Movement's leader's visit to Saudi Arabia, as the Kingdom is seeking to reach consensus with the Iraqi government, to confront Iranian influence in the country.
