Leader of Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Ammar al-Hakim has declared founding a new political body after he quit the council, reports said Monday.
The new trend is named Al-Hikma, Wisdom, National Trend.
This comes shortly after reports indicating senior scholars of Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq are intent on holding an urgent meeting to discuss the withdrawal of Ammar al-Hakim, the head of the council.
Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq has been hit by rifts over the past weeks, with those who opposing al-Hakim breaking away from the Shiite body.
