Sistani calls for 'pursuing justice' ISIS captives

Mosul civilians
Iraqi Shiite cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani on Friday urged security forces to stop tortures and revenge killings against civilians suspected to be affiliated with ISIS terror group, describing those crimes as 'illegal'.

Addressing his followers in Friday prayers in Karbala, Sistani called for stopping extrajudicial executions and submit the convicts to a fair and peaceful judicial process.

Sistani also  confirmed that ISIS terrorist group won't be defeated unless all territories under its control became liberated, referring to areas in Kirkuk and Nineveh which are being controlled by the terrorists till now.

Videos that emerged last week showed troops in Mosul taking captured ISIS suspects and throwing them one by one off a high wall next to the Tigris River, then shooting their bodies below.
