The head of the Agricultural Crops Exporters Association of Iran, Reza Nurani, said on Monday that Tehran is ready to export various agricultural crops and foodstuffs to Qatar via three ports in southern Iran.
In a press statement, the Iranian official said the move comes in response to the sanctions imposed by Gulf countries on Qatar, including an embargo on exporting foodstuff products to Doha.
Iran is able to ship these products to Qatar within 12 hours as it is the nearest to Doha in terms of maritime borders, he further noted.
Nurani also revealed that $ 5 billion worth foodstuff products from Egypt, Saudi Arabia and UAE enter Qatar per year.
This comes as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain cut ties with Qatar.
