Iraqi police arrested Monday an ISIS commander in Samarra, Salahaddin province in central Iraq, Interior Ministry announced.
In a statement, spokesman for Interior ministry, Brigadier General Saad Ma'an said, "Based on accurate intelligence information, the emergency police regiment of Dhi Qar II, operating in Samarra district, managed to arrest ISIS commander al-Abbasi".
The detainee, 28, is one of ISIS most dangerous terrorists. He planned and carried out a series of attacks against vital facilities as well as police personnel, Ma'an added.
