Tunisia, Algeria denies Iran's media outlets claims

Iranian media outlets were keen on covering the Iranian culture minister's recent visit to Tunisia and Algeria in attempt to delude the whole world that Iran has supporting friends among the Arab and Islamic countries.

But these Arab countries did not give Mullah's regime the opportunity to spread its lies and claims.

Spokesman for the Tunisian Presidency Ridha Bouguezzi denied that President Beji Caid Essebsi had said during his meeting Friday with Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Reza Salhi Amiri, that "Iran is the protector of the Muslim world against Israel."

This clarification comes in response to reports by Iranian electronic media that the head of State had said that Iran is "the protector of the Muslim world against Israel" during his talk with Amiri.

According to Bouguezzi, the talk focused on the development of co-operation relations between the two countries and the importance that Iran makes the most of lifting the international blockade imposed on it for decades, and endeavours to interact positively with its regional environment, improve its relations with neighbour countries and promote dialogue to contribute to the peaceful settlement of conflicts in the region, in particular in Syria and Yemen, with the objective of restoring peace and stability in the region and take up posed challenges, mainly counter extremism and terrorism.

Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Algerian ministry of Foreign Affairs Information said that details published by some Iranian media of the meeting between Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal and Amiri "are unfounded, as their comments have been inaccurately reported and do not tally with what was really discussed".

Abdelaziz Benali Cherif said that "the information published by some Iranian media about the comments made during the audience the Prime Minister granted to the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance are unfounded."

The words of the two officials "have been inaccurately reported and do not tally with what was really discussed during the audience, which mainly focused on the interest Algeria and Iran attach to the cultural aspects to boost friendship and cooperation between the two countries."
