China reaffirms its support for Iraq in its war against terrorism

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday reaffirmed his country support for Iraq in its war against terrorism.

In a press statement, Iraqi Foreign Ministry announced that Iraqi Ambassador to China Ahmad Tahseen Ahmed Berwari presented his credentials as extraordinary ambassador to the Chinese president at the presidential palace in Nanjing City.

The Iraqi ambassador conveyed  greetings of President Fuad Masum, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari to the Chinese president, the statement read out.

The statement also expressed Iraqi government's thanks and appreciation for China's supportive stances towards Iraq in its war against terrorism, reiterating Baghdad's resolve to boost and promote relations with Beijing.

The Chinese president voiced his wishes of stability and security for Iraq as soon as possible, the statement added, pointing at recent advances achieved by Iraqi security forces in the war against ISIS terrorist group in Mosul.

The Chinese president also showed readiness to provide support for the Iraqi Ambassador to accomplish his diplomatic mission.
