Fierce clashes between the Iraqi forces and ISIS terrorists are stilling going on in the right bank of Mosul neighborhoods as revealed by Iraqi general Khalil al-Tae.
Al-Tae said on Twitter that there are currently heavy clashes at al-Kurneish Street and the outskirts of the Old City of Mosul in an attempt to reach the old bridge.
The Baghdad Post has received a photo taken by an officer from the Federal Police showing the old bridge that connects the right and left banks of Mosul.
The Federal Police commander said that his forces are advancing towards Bab al-Tob and al-Kurneish neighborhoods in the right bank of Mosul.
Heavy artillery and aerial bombardment operations are underway to control the neighborhoods, al-Tae added.
On Tuesday morning, at least 29 civilians were killed by a US-led coalition airstrike that targeted an ISIS headquarters at al-Sehha neighborhood near Baghdad street in the right bank of Mosul, local residents told The Baghdad Post on Tuesday.
The ISIS headquarters contained explosive materials which caused a massive explosion that destroyed many houses in its vicinity, according to the area's residents.
