Saudi diplomat urges uprooting links with terrorist country

Thamer Alsabhan

Saudi Minister for Arab Gulf States Affairs Thamer al-Sabhan on Tuesday said that any country could never rise up without uprooting its cancerous links with the most terrorist country in a reference to Iran.

Al-Sabhan added on his Twitter account that some countries would not be able to end their ordeals without eliminating their links with the malicious roots of terrorism in the world, wondering whether such countries have the enough courage and patriotism for implementing such mission.

Al-Sabhan was ousted from his position as the Saudi Ambassador to Iraq over his anti-Iran statements which angered some pro-Iran militias and politicians in Iraq who vowed to assassinate him.

The diplomat had earlier claimed that Iranian-backed Shiite militias were plotting to assassinate him through members of “Mourtadha Abboud Ellami” group at the behest of “Abu Mahdi Al-Mouhandis” and the leaders of “Asa’ib Ahl Al-Haq,” and especially the groups led by Akram Al-Kaabi. They are militias run by Iran in Iraq and are involved in all affairs of Iraq including the military and security troops all over the country.
