Severe clashes between Iraqi forces, ISIS in Al-Dawasa district

Severe clashes erupted on Monday between the Iraqi forces and ISIS terrorists at the entrance of Al-Dawasa district of the Mosul city in Nineveh governorate.

Earlier, Iraqi federal police and Rapid Response Forces retook all of Tairan district in the right bank of the city of Mosul from ISIS terrorist group, Commander of "We Are Coming, Nineveh" Operation Abdul Amir Rashid Yar Allah said on Monday.

The forces raised the Iraqi flag on a number of buildings in the district after killing a number of ISIS militants and destroying their weapons.

On February 19, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi announced the beginning of the offensive, describing it as “a new dawn” and calling on his troops “to move bravely forward to liberate what is left of the city” from ISIS terrorist group.
