Jubeir: Iran's regional plots main 'reason' behind row with Saudi Arabia

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said that the main reason behind the aggravation of dispute between Saudi Arabia and Iran is due to Tehran's plots and policies in the region.

Those aggressive Iranian policies emerged through supporting terrorism, committing war crimes in Syria and Iraq, bolstering Hezbollah movement in Lebanon and equipping Houthi militias in Yemen with weapons.
The Saudi top diplomat made the remarks during a meeting with his French counterpart Jean-Marc Ayrault in Riyadh.

Saudi Arabia did not carry out any aggressive acts against Iran, Jubeir asserted.

If Iran wants to restore relations with Saudi Arabia, it should change its policies in the region, Jubeir noted.

Tehran is still going ahead with its aggressive practices in the region as evidenced by the presence of some elements of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRGC) in Yemen, Jubeir confirmed.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states have intervened in Yemen in 2015 at the request of the legitimate government to deter the Houthi militias, backed by Iran and Hezbollah, from taking control of the country, Jubeir underlined.
