The Ministry of Health of Iraq announced on Monday evening that an agreement had been reached with Pfizer to buy 1.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine, news agencies reported.
The Iraqi government is trying to make the vaccines available in the country early 2021.
The coronavirus tally in Iraq now stands at 585,345, from which 522,637 people have recovered and 12,710 others died.
