2 killed, 35 injured in anti-regime protests in Baghdad: sources

Two people were killed and 35 others were injured as security forces clashed with anti-regime protesters in Al-Tahrir square, Baghdad, Al-Arabiya reported, citing sources.

Iraqi people took to streets in October last year to protest corruption, poor service, lack of job opportunities and the Iranian influence in Iraq.

Although protests forced Prime Minister Adil Abd al-Mahdi to resign, they continued their demonstrations until all their legitimate demands are met.
