The US has reiterated its support to the Iraqi protesters for reforms, saying that Baghdad should respect the demands of the demonstrators.
The comments were made by US Vice President Mike Pence in a phone call with Iraqi President Barham Salih on Monday, according to a statement by Salih's office.
The pair discussed the current unrest in Iraq, with Pence noting that Washington supports stability in the country, the statement added.
Iraq has been rocked by mass protests against the government since early October. Over 450 people have so far been killed and thousands of others were wounded.
