MP of the "construction" coalition Mohammed al Daraji announced the collection of the signatures of more than one hundred MPs to apply for the amendment of the Constitution.
Daraji said in a press statement: "Most of the problems are caused
by unclear constitutional articles, and therefore the constitutional amendment
has become a necessity at this stage," stressing: "The Constitution
is not a holy book so as not to be changed or amended."
He added: "There is an electoral entitlement in the upcoming provincial elections, and it is possible to use this time to complete some constitutional amendments by the Committee of Experts and vote in parliament and then put to a referendum in conjunction with the upcoming provincial elections."
