Iraq's Ministry of Health revealed in a statement on Tuesday that 165 people were killed during the one week of protests.
A source from the ministry told Iraqi media reports that the majority of the victims were protesters, while part of them were security personnel.
The statistics came while the situation has partially been normalized in Iraq, after nearly 6,000 others were also wounded during the demonstrations.
The Iraqi people have been protesting against the poor public services, unemployment, and corruption.
However, the Iraqi Parliament on Tuesday, apart from halting the activity of the provincial as well as municipality councils until the next elections, it also issued over a dozen of decrees in order to meet the majority of the protesters’ demands.
