Two rockets were fired at the heavily fortified Green Zone in Baghdad on Tuesday, just before protestors returned to the streets for the third day.
According to a report by al-Arabiya, the first rocket landed near the Turkish embassy inside the Green Zone, which is home to main government buildings and international diplomatic missions.
The second rocket, as the report claims, hit Harisiyyah bridge of the Green Zone.
No groups have yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
It comes after protests in Baghdad spread to other provinces of Iraq and turned violent over the past two days.
According to the latest updates, at least 21 people have so far been killed. Another 650 were injured in clashes with security forces.
The Iraqi government has placed main districts under curfew and shut off the access to internet.
