Hundreds of people demonstrated in the airport road, west of Baghdad, a security source said Wednesday, according to Iraqi News.
The source said in a press statement that hundreds demonstrated, today, on the Baghdad International Airport road, west of the capital Baghdad.
He further added that the security forces tightened their procedures and were deployed intensively at the entrance to the airport.
Meanwhile, 15 persons were wounded in demonstrations that took place in al-Tayaran Square, in central Baghdad.
“Fifteen protesters were injured, today, as a result of gunshot wounds and suffocation due to the exposure to tear gas in al-Tayaran Square, in central Baghdad,” a security source said.
He also pointed out that the number of demonstrators increased in the last few hours in several areas of the Baghdad.
It is noteworthy that a number of Iraqi Provinces are witnessing demonstrations since Tuesday, especially the capital, Baghdad. The angry demonstrations against corruption were renewed this morning to demand reform.
