Iraqi police have defused explosive devices planted by ISIS terrorists in al-Khazifi village located east of Hawija in Kirkuk, the local security chief said Monday.
The terrorists managed to flee after killing Iraqi civilian Taha Elwan Taha in al-Khazifi village, the official added.
The bombs were defused without any material damage or
casualties, he noted.
Iraqi police in Anbar province have started an operation to purge areas freed from ISIS from explosives and mines.
The ISIS was declared fully defeated in Iraq in late 2017, while the group's sleeper cells have so far continued to pose a threat to the security forces and civilians in the country.
