Turkish Defense Ministry said in a statement on Sunday that the country's air force downed an unidentified drone on the Syrian border, reportedly after it breached Turkey's airspace for several times.
The drone on Saturday, according to the statement, violated Turkey's airspace for six times, while a couple of F-16 fighter jets were tracking down the unknown aircraft.
"An unmanned aerial vehicle which violated our air space six times (on Saturday)... was downed by two of our F-16s which took off from Incirlik" air base in southern Turkey, reads the statement, as cited by Daily Mail.
It further explained that the incident occurred at 1:24 (local time), the report said.
