Iraqi Military Intelligence Directorate announced on Sunday the launch of security operation in Kirkuk aimed to pursue ISIS fugitive terrorists.
In a statement, of which, The Baghdad Post received a copy, Iraqi forces managed to destroy an ISIS hideout, including weapons depot and explosive devises in Kirkuk.
The statement added that, acting on intelligence information, troops of the Iraqi Military Intelligence Directorate of the 51 Brigade managed to seize an ISIS hideout in Kirkuk.
The same forces found a big number of Grenades, explosive
devices and 4 Kalashnikov rifles.
Iraqi forces continue to search, cleanse and pursue ISIS remnants across the country to ensure that the organization and its fleeing elements do not re-emerge.
In December 2017, Iraq announced the liberation of its entire territory from ISIS after nearly three and a half years of clashes with the terrorist organization that occupied nearly a third of the country. s.
