A delegation from the Iraqi parliament will visit Erbil during the coming few days to follow up on talks seeking solution to the prolonged disputes between the regional and federal governments.
In remarks, MP Vian Sabri said the parliamentary delegation will include committees of legal affairs, oil and gas, and finance and economy.
“Each parliamentary committee will hold separate meetings with the relevant authorities in Kurdistan Region,” she said.
Sabri also added that the regional and federal governments should reach an agreement regarding the 2020’s budget bill before it is sent to the parliament for approval so KRG’s share is secured.
Erbil and Baghdad have shown commitment to resolving their differences, especially those related to budget, oil revenues, and disputed areas, since the formation of the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
