MP for the rule of law Kazem Sayadi pledged to work to amend the Constitution during the current legislative term.
"The voices calling for keeping the offices of the general inspectors are voices of financial and administrative corruption belonging to the whales of partisan and factional corruption," Sayadi told a news conference.
"We will work in this legislative chapter to amend the Iraqi Constitution and its contents," he added. We will abolish the Integrity Commission, the independent bodies and the provincial councils, as a first amendment, and then a second amendment later," he added.
He went on saying: "These institutions have become redundant circles spread the culture of corruption and stealing the money of the Iraqi people."
Sayadi called on parliament to work on changing the constitution to eliminate such institutions.
