The US administration has restricted the movements of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani during his participation in the work of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Diplomats said: The Iranian president is subject to the same strict restrictions, imposed in July, on members of the Iranian mission to the United Nations.
The restrictions prevent Rouhani from moving away from UN headquarter, located on the East River bank on the east side of Manhattan.
However, the US authorities granted him special permission to stay in a hotel. Rouhani is scheduled to address the General Assembly on Wednesday and hold a press conference.
