Politicians slam call to assign Iraqi army duties to Iranian militia

Iraqi lawmakers and politicians have rejected announcements by Sheikh Yousuf Al-Nasseri, Deputy Secretary-General for Religious and Rapprochement Affairs in the Hizbullah Al-Nujaba Movement in Iraq, that the Iraqi army consists of mercenaries and called for its disband.

Nasseri further demanded to assign the Iraqi military’s tasks to the Iranian Militias in Iraq and Syria (IMIS).

MP Raad Al-Dahlaki slammed Nasseri’s announcements and labeled them as “sick.”

Dahlaki further affirmed that targeting the Iraqi army is considered an offensive against Iraq itself, pointing out that such announcements only exposes true loyalties of certain figures.

Moreover, MP Alia Nassif said any insults against the Iraqi army will not affect its morale and will only increase its determination to continue its great path that is full of sacrifices.

Nassif also said that insulting the Iraqi army is considered an insult to all Iraqis.
