IMIS seeks to open Iranian consulate near Mosul to provoke Christians
The Iranian Militias in Iraq and Syria (IMIS) has been paving the way for the next step in Iran’s devious scheme in Iraq, including the inauguration of the Khomeini School in Nineveh Plains, east of Mosul, in order to spark a demographic change and spread extremism by exporting the approach of the Khomeinist revolution.

IMIS seeks through these actions to agree with the ambassador in Baghdad to open an Iranian consulate on the remains of the Christian component in Iraq.

However, these steps were rejected by Arab tribes in the conflicted areas between Erbil and Baghdad, including Nineveh Plains.

Observers further noted that Iran seeks to end the existence of Christians in Iraq, urging the Iraqi government to provide the necessary protection against the Iranian spread.

Christians in Iraq also vow to escalate and file an international case in the event that the government of Prime Minister Adil Abd al-Mahdi chooses to remain silent and refrain from protecting around 250,000 Christians in Iraq.

It is worth mentioning that the number of Christians in Iraq was reduced from around 1.5 million Christians before ISIS occupied Mosul.
