The Iraqi Decision Alliance, led by Atheel al-Nujaifi, has accused former Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki of attempts to alter facts regarding the ISIS occupation of Nineveh province.
A press statement by the alliance said it was odd enough that Maliki referred to the occupation of Mosul for sectarian reasons, and that 90 percent of police and armed forces in the province are Sunni.
The statement further added that everyone knows that Maliki’s remarks are false and that he only seeks to sow discord and sedition.
The alliance also called for a fact-checking committee to investigate the events and evidences in order to bring whoever responsible to a fair trial, including Maliki.
