Tight security measures have been decided to be taken around foreign diplomatic missions in Baghdad, a security source said.
A statement by Maj. Gen. Aamr Saddam said the decision was made at the request of Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi who emphasized that the security of diplomatic missions in Iraq is the “red line”.
Earlier this week, hundreds of angry protestors raided Bahrain’s embassy in Baghdad where they took down the country’s flag to condemn a US-sponsored “workshop” hosted in Bahrain to address the Israel-Palestine conflict.
