Haidar al-Mulla, leader from the Reconstruction and Reform Alliance, has revealed about two candidates for the Defense Ministry, saying Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi will introduce the two candidates after nominating a specific figure to the Interior Ministry.
In remarks, Mulla said “the prime minister submitted names of six of the defense ministry candidates to the Supreme National Committee for Accountability and Justice.”
The committee, according to Mulla, found no legal issues against two candidates. “The two names were Najah al-Shemari and Salah al-Hariri,” Mulla said adding that “Abdul-Mahdi will introduce the candidates to the parliament after an agreement is reached on a specific figure for the interior ministry.”
Mulla went on saying it’s unfair to say that Abdul-Mahdi’s cabinet achieved nothing during the past period of time, adding that “the anger among Iraqis requires exceptional measures and serious government to fight corruption and make achievements.”
