The Iraqi Turkmen Front sent an inquiry to Prime Minister Adil Abd
al-Mahdi asking him for information about
Kirkuk's former governor who was earlier arrested in Beirut.
This comes after reports claimed that Najmaldin Karim who was arrested by the security authority at the Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport, according to orders from INTERPOL.
Arshad Salehi, head of the front, asked whether there is a governmental mediation to release the former governor, and whether he will be returned to Iraq, noting that he faces corruption and integrity charges that harms national security.
A source revealed a high-level mediation by the Kurdistan Democratic Party to release former Karim.
