Iraq's President Barham Salih highlighted the
region's need to activate constructive dialogues between all parties to reach
solutions that help stabilize the security and political situation.
This came during his meeting with Turkey's ambassador to Baghdad Fatih Yildiz.
During the meeting, Salih stressed the importance of expanding cooperation between the two friendly countries to ensure meeting the common interests of the peoples of Iraq and Turkey.
For his part, the Turkish ambassador reiterated his country's support for Iraq at various levels, stressing the importance of strengthening joint efforts to overcome obstacles to the development of relations between the two countries.
Separately, Salih told CBS News correspondent Roxana Saberi that he's talking to both the United States and Iran to keep Iraq from becoming a battleground.
