Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Egypt’s
top Sunni Muslim authority, condemned the terrorist bombing that
targeted Jamila neighborhood in Sadr City, east of Baghdad, on Thursday
At least seven people were killed in the suicide attack ISIS claimed responsibility for, according to some media reports.
"The perpetrators of these terrorist acts have been stripped of their humanity and have not respected the sanctity of blood, nor the holy month of Ramadan," al-Azhar said in a press release.
Al-Azhar also stressed that targeting innocent civilians is an act rejected by all divine religions.
Iraq has declared victory over ISIS terrorist organization in December, 2017, during the term of former prime minister Haidar al-Abadi. However, the country still faces terror attacks from time to time.
